Hi all,
I have this weird problem that when I hit two drums at exactly the same time (eg Bass and snare) a clipping sound occurs (happens both with the standalone app and within Cakewalk Sonar).
First I thought that it was a ASIO buffer issue. But even with the buffer at the largest setting this occurs and as often as with the smallest setting. The system I am running EZD 3 on has the following specs:
Ryzen 7950x
64Gb RAM
4TB SSD
RTX4080
Presonus Audiobox USB96
CPU utilisation does not rise above 10% when using EZD3, memory usage is 35%. So it looks like it is not the system…
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
How high are your volume levels for each drum and the output near the bottom right corner of EZD?
Is the Presonus plugged into a USB1 hub?
The Presonus is plugged in directly into my PC (USB3, although the presonus only supports USB2 I believe). The output in the bottom right corner is: 0.0db (default), The individual tracks were also on default. Never looked at the mixer view actually (!). I adjusted kick and floor toms volumes downward a bit. Now it seems to be solved! How simple can it be. Thanks for your help!!
Glad to help. Always set your mixer levels to well below 0dB, to keep from clipping. Some say to keep everything below -12. You can bring the level up when mastering.
