Hi there
I have run out of storage space on my computer running Windows 10, thanks to a very large and sneaky update from Microsoft. (Yes I know. I shouldn’t be online and I’m not online that often.)
So I have decided to install a new C: Drive going from 128GB to 500GB.
My D: Drive is 1TB.
I run Pro Tools 12, Superior Drummer 3 and not much else.
I have been told that before I install the new drive and back up all of my music files and programs etc, I should ‘Clone’ the C: Drive first.
Is this something that is recommended and is there anything else I need to be aware of please. I obviously don’t want to lose my files or programs, but don’t want to lose my licences either. I am also thinking about ‘blocking’ all future updates. Is that wise to do?
Thanks
Dave
Hi,
from a Toontrack point of view, switching the hard drive *shouldn’t* trigger a new Activation of your products but even if it would, you can De-Activate that “lost” state of your computer in the Product Manager app. Should you have run out of available activations, we can help with that.
BR,
John
