Adternoon all. My son wants to record drums for his favourite tune (one step closer by Linkin Park) for his school project. I got the drumless track in mp3 and uploaded it in the bandmate section- not sure if this is the correct method or not. What happens is as soon as I hit the record button the backing track stops so I can’t record drums over it. I have no experience in recording whatsoever and only been using ezd for playing and practising. Please can someone help, thanks
If he’s recording with his electric drum kit, EZdrummer will not do the whole task on it’s own. You would need a DAW. For example on Mac, Garageband is free or on PC Reaper is $60ish but has a great trial you could do the project on.
You need a DAW because it will playback your Linkin Park Track in real-time while he records his drums. Bandmate is some else not to focus on for this task.
If you get a DAW, and post back, I’m sure users will walk you through the process here.

Brilliant, thanks! I’m gonna get Tracktion Waveform first as it’s free apparently and see how it works
You load, say, a guitar part into Bandmate, and it gives you a drum groove for it.
