I need to locate grooves have atypical or “fancy” hi-hat patterns. I have a very large Toontrack MIDI database, and I’ve stumbled upon quite a few, over the years, but never documented them. Now I need to locate as many as possible, and I can’t possibly audition my entire library. I know how to search for grooves that contain hi-hat as the “power hand,” but that isn’t specific enough. I’m looking for really interesting hi-hat performances (not standard ones).
If I’ve overlooked a way to search EZD3 for grooves like this, please let me know. Otherwise, I’d love to hear recommendations from anyone who knows their libraries better than I know mine!
If you happen to know the actual names of grooves or groove families, that would be awesome. Otherwise, knowing which EZX MIDI or MIDI packs might fit the bill would also be helpful. All recommendations will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Try taking the ones you’ve already found and drag then to the Tap2Find drop zone. You can also select the webshop midi button to assist in packs you don’t own yet.

Thanks a million. I’m one of your YouTube subscribers. However, I don’t want grooves that are similar to those I’ve already found. I’d to find as many different types of unique, hi-hat performances as possible. 😊
You can also make your own unique grooves by dragging groove parts from different grooves. You can also add to a groove using Edit Play Styles. Plenty of ways to make your own grooves.

Thank you. I’m aware of both, but neither addresses my current need. I worded it very carefully to describe exactly what I need. Thanks again.
Just copy the hihat pattern(s) and put that into Tap2Find
