    Hi Shootie,

Is this the Parallel comp preset in Acoustic Songwriter Studio A?

If so, this is what the routing looks like when this preset is opened in SD3 (except i hid the Room channels). So yes, if you solo the Close Parallel channel you are only hearing a compressed signal. Mix is set to 100% in Comp 76.

Petter. You got me thinking and now opening SD, thanks for the inspiration! When it comes to the Master Bus FX, when I click on them they seem generic. Is there an explanation as to what those are? Or are those truly behind the scenes? On the same preset, it simply says for example “Multi -FX”. You click on it and now it says “Drive”, but it’s not one of the SD3 Distortion FX, it’s just a Drive Slider. Where does that Drive effect come from? Thanks if you can explain!

The preset makers have access to a tool where they can create effect chains and use some additional effects that are not directly available in SD3. Sort of like how presets are made for EZmix. The effect chain that they make is represented in that Multi-FX format, and sometimes they define parameters in the effect chains that can be adjusted by the user in the form of knobs/sliders.

The first insert on the master is a Tape Simulator, but not exactly the same one as the Tape Simulator that is available as an insert. The Drive slider is there so that it can be connected to the Drive macro knob for EZdrummer 3 (same with the Comp and Comp On/Off macro knobs).

Fun fact: In Superior Drummer 3 you can save these Multi-FX inserts as a Channel Effects preset if you like the effect and want to use it in a different preset/library.
