Hello,
I am using a Mac studio M2 ultra and I am on ProTools 2024.10.2. And I’m using SD 3.4.0. I’m converting a Kick Audio track to MIDI and when you do so you set up an instrument track of course to copy the midi onto.
So I’m setting up the instrument track and in the midi settings, I’m putting the settings on Roland TD-50x (my V-drums) and I’ve got the drummer set selected and the kick drum selected on the first opening page. However, when I copy audio to midi from my kick Audio Track, when it goes onto the SD 3.4.0 instrument track, I hear the snare being played some Tom and symbols, but the kick is nowhere to be heard.
I am using the Melodyne Software for the conversion and have done the recent update for that software, thinking that it might solve this, since updates do sometimes help.
Also, just for clarity’s sake, I’m using SD 3.0 as a plugin insert in a Pro Tools project file, not as a stand alone. Many Thanks for any help,
Frank B.
What exact version of Melodyne are you using? Why go through converting the audio to MIDI when you can just import the MIDI from your drum brain to PT and thence on to SD3?

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanJust record the midi. No need to send audio and convert.
By the way if the kick is playing a snare then just transpose it down a couple of semitones. Or get more involved and check the midi to see what note numbers has been assigned and check in sd3 what note number the snare is on and transpose the difference.
