Title.
I’m so pissed right now. Why in gods name does all the user presets get saved in /user/music/ezdrummer3
all your technical crap says its stored in application support. It sure as hell aint.
I opened a fresh install of ezdrummer3 and created a new preset, saved, and ITS STORED IN MUSIC!! The god damn folder that DOESNT GET auto-SAVED IN TIME MACHINE
Months of tweaking and perfecting my set, gone because someone isn’t following their own technical manuals. Let’s just change it up on a whim. Great idea,. thanks.
Check your time machines people. all your projects do not get backed up because the users/music folder is NOT for maintaining important stuff. Its were apple stored its music library catalog. It doesn’t get backed up. You might as well save the ezd3p files in the downloads folder. Don’t get any ideas, Toontrack.
Who thought that was a good idea? Did you even check if these files we work out of for years and customize our sets would be backed up??
These files SHOULD be stored in THEIR OWN FOLDER inside Documents. Ya know, the place that iCloud keeps things for easy management on multiple computers.
but no… MUSIC. lmao. These files ARE NOT MUSIC.
Anyway, gg guys. Apples music library folder is a fantastic place to go find nothing when you need it most.
Doesn’t sound like a ToonTrack issue. You must have changed it at some time in the Library/Paths tab in the settings. My settings are still at default and point to the Application Support folder in my user directory.
Perhaps it would be best to set it to a cloud directory so that it is always backed up.

I actually love that you sent that pic, because my saved presets says its saved in the same place, but its not..
Right now, go to File/Save as…. and look where it puts it.
This is a brand new computer. no defaults changed. gunna get a screen one sec
Its not saving projects to application support.. and I’m not trying to be a D**k… this is a huge problem if I’m not the only one
Right now, go to File/Save as…. and look where it puts it.
You didn’t save a preset. You saved a Project. Projects and presets are two totally different animals. Projects are user documents that are in fact song related, ToonTrack would be no more responsible for them as much as Microsoft is not responsible for where you save Word documents. Your user presets are drum annd mixer configurations that can be used in any project and are under a limited control of EZ Drummer since they are saved wherever your preferences as they are managed by EZD. You are in total control of your projects and not EZ Drummer. Your own screenshot demonstrates that. You could have selected a different location to save such as the cloud. Even more so you could’ve, and probably should have, chosen to have Time Machine, save your user documents. You should have also saved your drum configurations as presets and not projects if you intended to use them in various projects.
