So as the title suggests, I’m looking for the best way to midi re-map one preset to another. I had an old one that I was using with a different kit primarily and different note articulations in places etc. Now I have this new preset I have made & I have an 11 minute song which has some very thorough and complicated programming in it which I DO NOT want to just re-do. It would take me a long time. Now, I’m looking for the best way possible to move the midi notes (Kick Open A#0 for instance) to another midi value WITHOUT compromising the other midi notes. I’m worried that if for instance B-1 already belongs to tom 2 rimshot that if I move over my old note placement to match my new preset and B-1 is Snare Roll on the new preset that as I change them, one of them will get a new midi note by default which may conflict with other existing instrument and articulation. I’ve tried editing this in Studio One & it was complicated as hell as often performed in very un-ideal ways. I’ve also tried using the Logic Pro midi editor thinking that could help me just drag entire instrument lines onto a new one, but that was chaotic as well. I’ve downloaded several specific midi note editors & they have left me pulling my hair out. So, I know people on this forum know WAY MORE about how to PROPERLY and most effectively do things than I do. So I thought I would pose this question out there for you all.
Summarizing: I was to change the midi notes on each of my instrument articulations of my old preset (which has a long song already programmed in it) to match the midi note values and instrument articulations of my new preset which is using a different SD3 Library.
Thanks in advanced everyone.

Could you do something like I do in ProTools in it’s MIDI editor? Here’s what I do: highlight the MIDI track and select ‘open in MIDI editor’. There’s a piano roll at the left side of that window. I then select the MIDI note in the piano roll which highlights all those particular notes I want to move. I then right-click any of the notes and select ‘transpose’ and up comes a windowlet that allows me to specify the amount of transpose and I hit okay and all of those notes (and those only) are moved to the new location. Data like velocity moves with those notes as I’m not moving in time (horizontal) but vertical.
The other way would be instead of opening the transpose windowlet I just drag and drop all the selected notes to the new location but that can be fraught with peril if one gets twitchy with the mouse. Been there/done that. I don’t do MIDI inside of SD3 but just in whatever daw I’m using so I’ve never even tried doing it in SD3.
