Hi everyone,
i’m running TD27 KV2 into EZD3 and Scarlett 2i2, jamming live through headphones and everything sounds amazing.
I’ve tried outputting from scarlett 2i2 to an amp and speakers, but the sound is terrible (lots of bass and not a very clear sound).
is there a way to resolve this in software or do I need some additional hardware (mixer with eq)?
thanks in advance,
Dan
Hi there,
The scarlett 2i2 has line outputs, I assume that is what you are running into your amplifier, I assume a stereo amp so you are running both outputs into it?
Which amp? If it is like an instrument amp, you are probably not going to get a quality sound, as guitar amps are usually configured to accept instrument output, not line output like what you would be getting from your interface. That would be my initial guess.
Need more information, what kind of amp, is it stereo, does it accept line input as opposed to instrument input?

Hi Dan, Just thinking could be your Speaker amp. Are there any Eq knobs on the back? Also what kind of sound do you get when you plug in headphones to the headphones out on the interface? If you get a great clean drum sound in headphones then most problem will be the speaker amp.
hi all, to answer some of the questions…
I’m running left and right out of the scarlett 2i2 into an amp which is more like a general music amp (my wife uses it for her dance school with the speakers I’m using and it sounds fine when she runs a laptop or similar through it).
Amp doesn’t have any eq on it at all, just left and right volume.
I’m using headphones from the scarlett 2i2 and the sound is great.
many thanks,
Dan
To ask the obvious question: what genre of music, or which bands, is you wife playing through the system for her dance school?

Can you try connecting directly from your PC to the amp, the same way your wife does, and see if it sounds better.
Is she using headphone port on her laptop, or does have RCA or some other type of audio connection?
