    Hi,

please try first with starting Logic in Rosetta mode.

*Edit – I first misread your post. Please open the AU Plug-in Manager in Logic and perform a ‘Reset & Rescan’ operation on the two plug-ins.

You can also try with deleting the AU cache and rebooting the Mac.

    BR,
    John

Thank you. I tried all of the above, and I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Superior Drummer 3

Has anyone had the following error message come up and does anyone know how to fix it?
I’m in the latest version of Logic Pro X.

The plug-in named ‘Superior Dr’ of type ‘0 – 32’ isn’t available on your system

The option to choose multi-output 16Xstereo has disappeared for Superior Drummer 3 and EZdrummer 3 but is still available for EZdrummer 2 somehow. Trying to mix the drums on a new song I’m working on at the moment, so this is really frustrating.

    Operating system: macOS Sequoia (15)

When you say the multi-out has disappeared – is that in Logic or SD3? And did things work okay before you updated Logic? Did you also update MacOS? Are you running the latest revision of SD3?

    • Cheers. This is in Logic. There was no update to the OS, and I’m running the latest version of Superior Drummer 3. I do believe there was an automatic update in Logic, but it didn’t stop working right away, and it’s a bit weird that it’s only for Superior Drummer 3 and EZdrummer 3. It’s still working for EZdrummer 2 and EZbass.

First and obvious question: do the Stereo versions of Superior Drummer 3 and EZ Drummer 3 load? I’m guessing that if they do, then you may have some sort of corruptions in either the plug-in, Logic project or Logic itself (but I doubt this since other plug-ins work).

To reiterate John’s suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling. After you uninstall, ensure that the AU & VSTs no longer exist by going to the /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/ folder and checking the folders underneath it to see if the plug-ins have actually been removed before doing an install. Once you re-install, open Logic to see if it automatically scans and validates your plug-ins.  If not, you need to do a Reset & Re-Scan in Logic.

I just tested both Stereo and Multi-Channel channel version of both in Logic 11.2 and they load without issue.

Thank you. The stereo versions load just fine, and there’s no change if I open a new project, and I’ve had no problems with other plugins.
I’ll give uninstalling and reinstalling another try, and adding the steps you mentioned. Haven’t thought of uninstalling and reinstalling Logic before right now. Maybe I’ll give that a try as well. Do you happen to know if I would have to reinstall all my plugins and if I lose all my settings, templates, project folders and so on if I do a full reinstall of Logic?

Plugins are kept separate from Logic. Reinstalling Logic won’t affect your plugins. Templates and presets are stored in your user area.

When you reinstalled Superior Drummer, did Logic attempt to validate it when launching?

I’m so sorry for the late reply guys, hank you all for trying to help me figure it out. After a lot of sweat and tears (and hard drive failures, which may or may not be related to uninstalling and reinstalling Superior Drummer 3 and EZdrummer 3), I think I may have found the solution to at least half of my problems. Uninstalling and reinstalling an older version of EZdrummer 3 seems to have brought back the option to use multi-output 16Xstereo. However, that does not work for Superior Drummer 3. If I uninstall SD3, open Logic and choose SD3 as my instrument, the option is there, but it says resources are missing and I need to reinstall SD3. When I reinstall SD3 and open Logic again, the option is gone. I have tried all available versions of SD3 in Product Manager. I am scratching my head so flipping hard over here.

Check all of the folders within the Library/Audio/Plugins in your home directory  (not the system directory) to see if a copy of Superior Drummer was mistakenly installed there.

Thank you so much Jordan, that seems to have been exactly what caused the problem. I don’t know how it happened or how you thought of it, but that just saved my day. Thanks again.
