I’m wondering if the demos on the EZDrummer Sound Expansion pages are made with the midi that is include in the same EZX purchase? For example, I bought the new https://www.toontrack.com/product/acoustic-songwriter-ezx/ I like the first demo in “Kit And Preset Selection” part.
Using an audio sample of that first demo, and loading that into Bandmate, does not find the groove in the MIDI samples. So, not there?
Am I missing a trick?
Thanks so much.
You can listen to every MIDI groove in every EXP. Open the Grooves tab and check the Web Shop MIDI button. I know I haven’t answered you directly, but it’s the best I can do.
Thank you. I’m trying that, but no direct match yet. The drum EXZs sound great, and the MIDI has a similar playing character to the demo.
Sure, and I’ve gone through the samples that come with it, and no direct matches. There are a lot of % matches, and I am sure I can make something similar.
Thanks for you help.
Are you listening to the grooves at their original tempo? The first demo that you are mentioning is a variation based on the grooves in “In Trouble” and at the original tempo, it matches up rather accurately.
Quite often the demos will extend the basic grooves provided, but it is not too difficult to spot which grooves when listening to them in context. As well, for that particular song, you will find many variations on the song parts.

Thank you, Jord,
That was the closest I found, and I will have to play around a bit to see. The MIDI, seems more snare centered. But I am making my own thing out of it anyway.
You might have advice here, if you want to build a groove in song with song creator, using “In Trouble” what is best practice. I drag the midi from the groove into song Creator> Song Parts> midi. But that seems to generate it’s own new thing. I haven’t found the ‘load groove’ link. Thanks for all the input on the forum. I have read many of your posts.
Be well
There are many variations within the “In Trouble” song. There are also sidestick grooves and tom grooves alongside the snare grooves. It’s quite the variety.
As for the Song Creator, there is no right on wrong with it. It sort of does what it thinks you might like from the groove you dragged on to it. The way I see it, you either may find new ideas with it or you might hate what it came up with. For me, it’s just a quick way to come up with a song idea and for me, I bound to change my mind as much as my underwear. The bottom like is that they just ideas and if you don’t like it, change it. Feel free to grab something from the song folder than you like or from another song folder and see where it takes. It’s all about the music.
