Hello,
I upgraded to EZD 3 several weeks ago.
I still have EZD 2 installed as a lot of old songs are using it. I’m concerned if I uninstalled 2, I would lose ability to go back and work on old songs using it.
Since aquiring 3, every new song I create defaults to using 3. Seems right, I guess.
Just now I created a new song, put EZ drummer on a track and 2 came in. I can’t get it to use 3. I don’t see 3 as an option anywhere. It’s like it’s no longer available. It’s certainly not default like it was.
I’ve gone back and opened a few songs I have EZD3 on, and it’s working perfectly. Just won’t come up for any new songs.
I use Pre Sonus Studio One pro.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best, Jerry
EZDrummer 2 and 3 are 2 different plugins. One does not replace the other. If you want your old projects with EZD2 to work, do not uninstall EZD2 until you’ve converted them.
If you indeed installed EZD3 correctly, it is in Studio One, do try harder to locate it.
If you want to replace an EZD2 project with EZD3. Open EZD2, under the main menu, Save Project (somewhere notable on your PC).
Now open an instance of EZD3 on a new track. EZD3 File Menu > Import EZD2 Project (the one you just saved). Now you’ve converted your EZD2 project to EZDrummer 3.

Hi there,
Would you be able to post a screen print of your instrument list in Studio One, similar to the attached?
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
Oh it’s definitely on my compute like I said it’s running perfectly in some other songs. I can find it, see it, I just can’t get it to load in a song anymore.
I couldn’t figure out how to get a snip in the body of this post but I did attach a snip. And this is from a song that is using EZD3
Please see another attachment. Pretty odd that it says last modified 2 years ago. I just got it a couple months ago.
Here’s a snip of a song using 3 opened up. And then a snip showing it in my programs.
Sorry I lied, it wasn’t several weeks ago that I got it. It’s been several months.
Shootie, BTW thank you for the detailed steps on how to save songs from EZD 2 and bring into EZD 3. Appreciate that.
I should probably mention this problem began after I uninstalled Studio One the other night and re-installed. Long story / series of mistakes.

Have you (in Studio One) checked View > Plug-in Manager. Is it, for some reason, in the blocked list?

Ah, are you sure that your new installation is pointing to the location where EZDrummer 3.vst3 is installed?
Studio One > Setting/Preferences> Locations Tab
The locations tab should contain the path like the one attached:

Thanked by: JDSorry for slow response Shootie, I went to bed after my last post.
It’s definitely not in the Blocked List. I checked that earlier.
I’ll look into settings/location.
Curious, what might happen I uninstalled EZD3 and reinstalled? Probably dumb question. I would probably lose the work I have in 3 already.

Thanked by: ShootieUninstall/Reinstall is fine. You won’t loose anything. Brad’s screencap is important though.

Ahh, I missed that. I need to find out how to move it to the Toontrack folder. Surely that’s key.
Hey I really appreciate the help guys. Thanks so much!!

Nice catch Scott…. on my rig it (and SD3) show in both Toontrack and Drums so maybe a reinstall is worth a try?
