Hi
I’ve been working with the blues midi drums for almost a decade, and now I can’t anymore. I produce blues musik, and I rely on the purchases I bought years ago; The Blues MIDI pack, The Blues drum Kit, and all the blues related drum stuff available in EZDrummer. I really need them to work on my new Mac Mini M4 2024 MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2, but when I try to install my products I’m told they need to be updated by the developer (you).
So my issue is:
Kind Regards Martin
Hi,
Use the Toontrack Product Manager application to install/update the products. That should work even though some downloads contain outdated installer applications (because they won’t be used).

Hi Oluf
that is exactly the problem, the plugins can’t be installed, because they need to be updated to run on macOS 15 end higher. I’ve tried everything, including what you suggest. If look at the screenshot I attached you’ll see that is not possible. What do I do ?
Those disk images / folders won’t even be open if you use the Product Manager. Don’t confuse it with the web interface. It is normally located in Applications > Toontrack on your disk (and it can be seen in the Dock in your screenshot). So launch Toontrack Product Manager and then use the “Download Product” and “Install Product” buttons, etc.

I’ve done that multiple times. When I download my products from me product manager the plugins/products download fine, but they can not be installed! It says “this product need to be updated by the developer “ . There is an issue with bit rate, and the it appears that the plugins are not updated to run above macOS 10.5. I do know how to work in Toon Track product manager, I’ve used it for like a decade. The new EZDrummer 3 is running just fine in Logic Pro and is easy to install (I’ve tried to free trial, but I have no use for it). So please look into this a bit more thoroughly. I really need my setup to work…
Does the Product Manager show a red “Install Product” button for The Blues EZX?
If so, when you click it, is it replaced by the text “Installer launched”? And do you get the message ‘“Installer.app” needs to be updated.’ or does an installer window open?

everything works from the TTPM but when the files has been downloaded from TTPM they can’t be installed. The installer simply won’t start, as you can see on the screenshot. “It need update by the developer” it says. I have done what I’ve always do, I know how to install EZX, midi blues etc. But it just won’t work on MacOS 15 ➡️… So what solution do you have in mind?
Well, you didn’t directly answer my questions and the screenshot does not show that you have tried to install from TTPM. The downloads/DMGs should not be opened like you did there. Instead, TTPM should launch the installations.

I think iv’e describe the issue pretty thoroughly. Can you confirm or dismiss the fact that Toontrack need to update several plugins concerning EZDrummer Blues plugins? I realy need support to get my purchases up and running or another sufficiently alternative established asap.
Hi Martin,
what Olof means is that you haven’t confirmed that you are actually using the Toontrack Product Manager application to run the Installer.
Since you have posted images above showing the disk images of your separate product installers from the Finder, it’s easy to assume you haven’t. The Toontrack Product Manager application circumvenes the (sometimes outdated) installer included in the product packages and lets you install old products.
I am also on Sequoia and have no problems downloading and running the Blues EZX Installer from within the Toontrack Product Manager application.
This applies to other old products as well.

John

In that case, I must be doin something wrong. Logic does not find the plugins. What do I need to do?
Can I get support over the phone? This is not working, and I can’t install anything from TTPM…
my number is +45 30 11 04 69
You can see the process on the screen shots. I download my plugins from TTPM but I can’t install. Why? Note the tekst saying “EZDrummer for Mac OS X 10.4 to 10.9 only” ?
Hi Martin,
sorry about the confusion here but I presumed you were on at least a semi-current version of EZdrummer, not the original version that was discontinued more than 10 years ago.
EZdrummer 3 is of course Silicon Native and fully compatible with Sequoia, I can also run EZdrummer 2 in Logic 11.1 in Sequoia but getting the original EZdrummer 1 to work includes sorcery above my pay grade, I guess.
If you have migrated your system and the actual EZdrummer files have been moved to the new system, starting Logic in Rosetta mode might give you a slim chance but I wouldn’t bet any money on it.
Anyways, the Blues MIDI files and the Blues EZX are not OS dependent (only their old package installers), since they are extensions for EZdrummer but they require a working installation of EZdrummer to be utilised and on a Silicon Native Mac (your M4 Mac mini) with Sequoia, that means upgrading to EZdrummer 3, I’m afraid.

Hi John
alright, thank you for the insight
…I see that the problem is rooted as I suspected, which leaves me in a rather unfortunate situation. I already did pay a good amount of money for my products and have no regrets in that matter, but an update to EZDrummer 3 is quite expensive, especially when I only need the upgrade to run already purchased plugins, plugins my work completely relies on. So…I would really appreciate some compensation regarding my purchase of the upgrade, is there Anything you can do to? Is there basic upgrade for free available that make it possible to run EZDrumner , or is the full package a nesessity?
BR Martin
Hi Martin,
I really hope I don’t come across as rude, that’s not my intention; but I hope you see that when you bought the original EZdrummer (1) in 2011, there was nothing in the offer and/or EULA that guaranteed you could either get free upgrades to newer iterations of the software for life or that Toontrack would continue to support that product for new hardware and OS’es unimagined at the time. You can still use the software you have bought 14 years ago but you can’t use it with the newest hardware (your M4 Mac Mini) and OS (Sequoia). This is not something unique to Toontrack products. You do still have access to the EZX’s and MIDI you have bought but they can’t be used without a working copy of EZdrummer, so if you had EZdrummer 2/3, you still could be using your EZdrummer EZX expansions and the MIDI pack.
Anyways, we Technical Advisors here on the Forum cannot aid with compensation, discounts or the like, so I would have to direct you to contact Toontrack Support directly for that.
All FAQ pages have a ‘Contact Support’ button found at the bottom.

John
