Is there a way to export adjusted presets from Ezmix 2 and import them into Ezmix 3? I have songs constructed in Reaper and I used the Ezmix 2 vst. I like how Ezmix 3 allows you to stack presets within one track application. My issue is while Ezmix 3 allows you to use Ezmix 2 packs, all of my fine adjustments will be lost or need readjusted. I tried loading up a Metal Master Bus preset and in Ezmix 2 it had a “push” knob. While in Ezmix 3 it shows different adjustments that I believe make up what was the push knob. I’m wondering if the push knob was at say 75% in Ezmix 2, can I export that 75% adjustment into Ezmix 3 and it’ll adjust to my settings in Ezmix 2. Or do I just have to mess with it until I get it to sound similar?
All presets in the EZmix 1 and EZmix 2 packs were meant to have the same controls in EZmix 3 as in EZmix 2 (and sometimes a few extra new controls), making it possible to import or convert projects from EZmix 2 to EZmix 3. The “Metal Master Bus” preset is apparently an exception that I was not aware of. The Push control has been split into three controls. If you set all three to the same value as the Push knob has in EZmix 2, you should get the same sound.
EZmix 3 can import EZmix 2 projects (File > Import EZmix 2 Project), but EZmix 2 projects can only be saved by the standalone.
But good news: REAPER 7.34 has support for “IPluginCompatibility,” which means that if you have EZmix 2 VST in a project, uninstall EZmix 2 and open the project, REAPER can replace all EZmix 2 instances with EZmix 3 (with the same settings). Just note that you need to do a “Re-scan (Clear cache…)” of plug-ins (in REAPER settings) after installing version 7.34, so that it knows about EZmix 3 being compatible with EZmix 2.
