    Hey RG,

If I’m understanding you correctly…you want to create and export different midi arrangements for the same chord structure of a song. Right?

In EZKeys2, each time you’ve assigned the preferred MIDI grooves to your chord sequence go to Track – Export MIDI. For a new version of the song, simply make your new arrangement of grooves and “Save As” a new file. (i.e., “Song v 1”, “Song v 2”, etc.)

Name the exports appropriately and import them into separate instrument tracks in your DAW. Assign instruments.

    Hope that’s helpful.

There is a simpler way to accomplish this. Create as many new tracks as needed and copy and paste the chords into those tracks. After that, select the MIDI grooves you prefer for each track. You can also name the tracks if you’d like. Just remember to save your project as a file!

That is very helpful, however I’m assuming this functionality is only available in EK2? I’m still in EK1 which doesn’t seem to support that.

Just so we’re on the same page, I’m not looking to change the sound of the patch – that’s easy enough to do within the song track.

    Say I want to have chord structure: E, F, G, B (eg)

And I start off by building it using library MIDI from folder: Soul/RB Swing 6/8

But then I decide I want to use library MIDI from folder Blues/Swing 6/8 instead

Currently I have to completely reprogram the song track and re-write the chords every time.

What I’d like to be able to do is to keep the same chord progression and just swap out the MIDI block from the library.

Is this doable in EK1 though?

No, it only works in EZkeys 2. I’m sorry I didn’t see you were on EZkeys 1. Maybe you’re interested in seeing how easy it’s done in EZkeys 2, you just push the + sign in the red square.  I’ve attached a picture.

You still have the option to save your project under different file names though.
