    Hi there,

My first thought would be to check that something not routed to the ambient mic is going to 1/2 on the right side. But without having the project file, or knowing what SDX, kit, preset, etc…

Exactly. I can’t find a preset in either the stock core library or Death & Darkness that has a mixer channel labeled ‘room’. This brings up something that gripes me – why can’t people post what presets or whatever they’re running. There’s no such thing as TMI when asking for help.

Not experiencing this on any of my libraries either. Need more details and a preset as mentioned above.

Hopefully this is one better (not a preset). Here’s the sd3p file. The same is occurring with the overheads…. the channel (mics) appear to be balanced or slightly to the left, which is where I would expect the snare to be for drummers perspective. But when the OH and Room channel are sent to the Bus, the right becomes louder.

    Any help is appreciated.

I just tried something which I can probably live with.  If I send the mixer channels directly to the output and NOT the bus, it seems keep the balance correctly. But my normal workflow is to aggregate in Busses, apply fx, sends, then send to output channels. Unless you see something causing the imbalance when it transfers to a bus, it seems like this is is a bug. A simple send to a bus should not be throwing off the balance, but maybe I’m missing something.

Shame you’re not using a core library kit to show us but if I had to guess the imbalance might be caused by the fx you’re using. Also look to see what your bleed settings are – that can trip things up.

Toontrack tech support confirmed that this is unexpected behavior, almost as if there is invisible panning happening on those busses (but nothing they can see upstream that is causing it – further supported by the work arounds). Turns out routing to a different bus also resolves the problem. How this invisible panning has occurred is a mystery, but something corrupt I suppose with this template/project.

It appears you were also using a couple of EZXs. That could also introduce their own routings. Wonder if that’s a third party template.
