I am programming drums within Cubase and am using closed hihat note articulations along with the foot pedal CC for the different stages of opening/loosening the hihat. I have a problem that when the CC is very low (to play an open hihat), SD is using different velocities/volumes kind of randomly, I will not get the same velocity and volume of an open hihat a lot of times, although playing the exact same part.
Can anyone give me a hint where to look up in the manual and what I might be doing wrong?
Hi,
I am not sure I understand your problem exactly but I would start with asking if you are using the “Trigger” articulations (Edge Trigger, Tip Trigger, Bell Trigger) when you are programming with CC data?
Using the individual articulations for Closed, Open 1, Open 4, etc when using CC will yield unexpected results.
It doesn’t really have anything to do with Velocity or Volume though, so I would need to have something to look at to be able to tell. Do you have a Project with MIDI on the Song Track you can zip and attach to a post here?
