Hi!
I don´t get any sound in my DAW when opening SD3.
Can someone tell me what I do wrong?
Best regards Geir
Are you instantiating Superior Drummer 3 as a plug-in within your DAW? Please elaborate with some more details in order to better help you.

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.3.7
Operating system: macOS Sequoia (15)
As Jord indicated, you have given us basically nothing to help you with. Does it not make a sound when you mouse click the SD3 UI? Does it not make a sound when you play a groove from the Groove Tab within the plugin?
Do you have a MIDI device, e-drum kit or keyboard connected to you Mac and it’s not triggering?
What interface are you using? If any? Do you have the track muted?
Are other virtual instruments working? Studio One comes loaded with:
CV Instrument, Impact, Mai Tai Mojito, Presence, SampleOne
Are they working?
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman and Bear-Faced CowEven more basic – does the OP get any sound at all on his audio I/O device? Something like YouTube videos? System sounds? Always pays to start with basics.

Don’t laugh – I had a buddy that worked tech support for a computer company and that was one of the first questions that was on the script they use over the phone. And I’ve seen that same question many times in the back of a manual usually marked ‘having issues?’

ToonTrack’s resident “specialist“ Scott might have something to say about that 😀

Have I got a bunch of tech-support stories stemming from my experience working for Apple almost 40 years ago.

Hi folks!
I use AudioFuse Studio as interface, and yes it´s powered and there is sound (in StudioOne, YouTube…), but not with SD3.
I have a PC I have used for music, but bought a Mac Mini for that reason. I installed the software through Toontrack (my products), like I have done before. But I had some issues to locate the Liberty to SD3. I open SD3 in my DAW, but there is no sound on the drums or in the grows-menu.
I have EZbass and EZkeys from Toontrack and they are working.

Hi Geir,
Glad we didn’t scare you off! So, have you been able to locate the SD3 sound library?
By default they are installed in: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Superior Drummer
But if you perform a “custom” install they will be where ever you installed them.
Can you post a screen print from Toontrack Product Manager of:
Superior Drummer 3 Library Part 1 – Basic Sound Library > Show Details > Installation Info
Please don’t post anything with serial numbers…

Expanding on Brad‘s post did you install the core library via the product manager?there are five parts to the library, but I believe the first three (might be first two) are essential for Superior Drummer to work.

Parts 1 and 2 must be installed and part 5 if one wants the bleed mics to work.

Again this is not providing much information. As Brad suggested earlier, it is best to grab a screenshot of the product manager. In particular the information pertaining to Superior Drummer 3. And as Brad posted, do not post any serial numbers.

I see your problem – you didn’t install parts 1 and 2 of the sound library for SD3. Those 2 parts are a rough total of 87 gig.

Drumjack,
Oh, I totally get it. I’ve worked for a number of music software companies and have heard horror stories from other tech support folks as well. One of the best ones was back when the Mac’s were in two pieces with the monitor sitting on top of the computer case. (See Macintosh II) It went something like this:
I can’t see Finale on my computer screen.
Is the computer turned on?
Yes,
Is the monitor turned on?
Yes
Is the monitor connected to the computer? ”
I don’t know
Can you go to the back of the computer to check?”
It’s too dark to see anything back there because our power is out.
One of those, “The problem seems to be between the computer and the chair”, moments.
