If you’re running EZD3 in a DAW, you won’t have the Audio/MIDI menu because the DAW settings will be used. EZD3 is a plugin inside the DAW.

If you’re running EZD3 Standalone, that menu should be there.

Are you running Standalone or in a DAW?

    Thanks, Scott,

I’m running it inside a DAW so that explains why the menu option isn’t there.  And that also shows me that what I’m looking for is not in that menu option.

I’m just trying to find out how to assign particular samples (instruments) in my drumkit in ezd3 to certain pads on my PreSonus Atom pad controller – I’m trying to override the default patch/sample assignment on the controller.  How do I do this in ezd3?

    Thanks again,

    Hi,

please go to Settings > E-drums/MIDI In (you can click the small menu in the lower right corner right next to ‘MIDI’).
By Default, the ‘Toontrack Standard’ Preset is selected. You can use this as your starting point.
Click an Instrument in the plug-in, followed by ‘Learn’ and then hit your pad. Now your incoming MIDI will map to this Instrument and articulation. Once you’re done, please save this as a User MIDI Preset, so you can load it in another session/project.

Alternatively, check the Atom manual on how to edit the note values for the pads to match the instruments and articulations you wish to trigger.

    BR,
    John

I would lean more towards John’s latter suggestion of remapping the pads. It will be more seamless working between your DAW and EZ Drummer.

Thanks John!  I actually did the first suggestion and realized I used to know how to do this for keys before I ever got a pad controller.  It’s the same for pads.  I’d forgotten how to do this… super simple.

    Thanks!

Thanks, Jordan.  I can’t speak for any other DAW, but the first suggestion – using the learn button – worked perfectly in Reaper.  I’m off to the races!
