Using bandmate in EZD3, I complete a song track of drums. I select EZDrummer Bright Room, and Michael Ilbert Modern Rock Classic Reverb. The midi parts I pick include splash cymbals. When I transfer that track to Garageband, the splash cymbal is replaced with a low-velocity different cymbal. I was told that on piano roll G2 is a spash, but it really is a choked-splash. That’s not the sound I want. But I think my question is more around why the EZD3 patterns I pick do not transfer to GB exactly. And what can I do differently to get the exact EZD3 track I created to replicate in GB? Thank you!
Can you show us a screenshot of the EZD window in GB showing the Drum tab?

Thanked by: Marc TebbensHave you changed any drum mappings in EZ Drummer 3?

Thanked by: Marc TebbensNo sir. I do not know about mapping from EZD3 out to Garageband. Please share any FAQs or links you have. I only know of drum mappings for my Roland TD4-to-EZD3 to match the trigger pads to kits inside EZD3.
so if I am reading this correctly, you are mapping your Roland TD4 to EZ Drummer. This is fine for playing EZ Drummer or recording MIDI tracks using your TD4. Since it appears that you are dragging your MIDI from EZ Drummer to GarageBand you will need to change the mapping within EZ Drummer back to the default mapping in order to play properly.

Thanked by: Marc TebbensThanks for engaging Jord. Cool website by the way! For my question actually the Roland has nothing to do with my situation. This is about when I make a song of drums using EZD3 grooves. I make a full song (so to speak) and I use band to make it. So I have an audio track playing of guitars and add drums via grooves. I then pick the room and reverb. Now I want to move it into GB where I will add other tracks like pianos etc. it’s there – when I drag from EZD3 to GB – that some of the drums and cymbals I heard in EZD3 are gone. In this case, the splash cymbal sound. Thank you for helping.
Actually it has everything to do with the TD4, if you’ve mapped to it EZ Drummer. Even if you are not using the TD4, as long as you have the mapping in place it will translate your incoming notes from GB. Thus you would need to change the mapping back to the default mapping as anything exported from EZ Drummer would be in its default mapping.

Thanked by: Bear-Faced CowThat is also the advice I am getting from another tech expert. Let me try to reset default mapping and get back to you. Thank you very much.
