Thanks in advance. I’m not sure how to ask, so maybe there’s a resource I can’t seem to find, but I want to enable my SD3 program to differentiate between a rim shot and a cross stick click. I know my TD-30 module can do it but I don’t know where to set that or what that functionality is even referred to as.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi there,

If the TD-30 is sending to MIDI note: 37 then that should trigger a sidestick in SD3, using the default kit (and a number of other kits).

In the SD3 Drum tab, expand the “MIDI Monitor” and hit the sidestick on your TD-30 and see what note comes through.

Hello,  Thanks for any assistance as well….I am on a Mac 14.6.1 using a Mac Studio with a Roland TD-50X module. I am having a similar issue and I DO see 37 come up on the midi monitor when I hit the sidestick. My problem is that SD 3.0 gives me about 2 inches at Most on the sidestick to get the hit correctly. Otherwise it registers as a regular snare hit.  With my Roland TD-50X module, I have the sidestick activated no problem and it sounds correct anywhere on the edge where I hit it.

Also, just to affirm, The visual drum scene in SD 3.0 shows that the different hits, Snare And Sidestick are taking place.

Many Thanks for any help….Frank B.

When my td50x module came it still had the crossover point enabled for side stick which is not required with the digital snare. Maybe yours is like this? My snare plays great with side stick rimshot and PS using the td50x preset.
