EZDRUMMER 3 clipping issue when first launched

  When I open EZDrummer 3 into my DAW or standalone, it loads the last the EZX pack I used (doesn’t seem to matter which one it is, same thing happens), and it always clips the meter with every hit, no matter kick, snare, cymbal; until I load another ezx, and then go back all the levels are good (mixer settings don’t change).  Thinking about trying to reinstall to see if that makes the bug go away.
