SD3 standalone works great, but not Logic plugin

  I have a Roland electronic kit which is working perfectly with the SD3 standalone. But when I open the plugin version in Logic 11.0.1 no sound is heard. Logic shows MIDI data entering the program but the SD3 plugin shows no data entering it. Is there a setting that needs to change in order for it to recognize the MIDI? I’ve scoured all over the internet and YouTube and have found nothing on this issue. Any help is appreciated.
