Dear madams and sirs
When i hit the EZDrummer 3 Dark Matter kit via mouse in the DAW plugin, everything sound great, full, attacky, wide, also when i record midi notes and play them inside the DAW.
But in the time i play live via midi drums over the Roland TD50X, it sound dull, flat and not that snappy, like the recorded notes.
It doesnt matter i use headphones or recording monitors its the same flat.
What can be a solution, to get the same sound, exactly same sound int times i am only drumming without recording, and when i play only inside the DAW without the Roland?
I am looking forward to hearing from you best regards
Matthias
Hi Matthias,
if you Search the Forum, this has been asked about and replied to many times. In short; when you click an instrument in the plug-in interface it’s a full velocity (127) hit, the hardest it can get. When you hit your trigger pad, it’s both depending on the strength of your hit and your module’s velocity curve settings, i.e. what is sent to the EZD3 plug-in.
In EZD3 E-drums/MIDI In, where you select your Roland TD50x preset, you can also adjust the velocity curves for the incoming hits, having them stronger (or softer) if you want to. You can shift+click several instruments to edit the curve for multiple instruments at the same time.
I hope this helps.
BR,
John
