I started this song with two kick beats but then the pattern I have after that. I cannot seem to copy more beats and have them line up. I cannot get the resolution on the grid so that I can see where the beats are and after copying and pasting, I realized that the beats had moved to a little bit earlier each time. I cannot figure this out. It’s not very intuitive to cut and paste, get it to snap to the correct tempo. Any help would be appreciated?

Hi there,
Are you constructing beats with song track and blocks don’t butt up against each or are you working in grid editor?
Could you post a screen print?
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
I am trying to copy this track and stitch it to the end and also align some of the notes as they are off a bit. I can’t figure out how to do either. When I choose snap it doesn’t help and when I try to move them to where I want, it needs to be exact but I cannot see exactly where the notes are because they aren’t big enough.
I can’t figure out how to copy and paste these notes easily as well.

For doing fine corrections in grid editor, trying zooming in, when you have auto resolution set, like you have in the screen print, it will change the grid resolution and make the view more granular.
FWIW, I don’t move, copy or insert blocks of MIDI in grid editor, I do it in the song track, I find it much easier.

To start your resolution is Set to auto. You probably want to change that to the Grid resolution that you want your notes to be. From there if you zoom in you can further see the grid resolution as well. Also, rather than move everything by hand, you can use the quantize slider to try to move your notes into place.
If you are trying to copy and paste this at the end of your other track. All you need to do is simply copy the region and paste it.
if there is anything else we missed, let us know.
