You are referring to the two instruments that have what’s called Futurhit. If you use the tools inside EZD3 to program them, they work fine.

I’m guessing you are programming with your DAW or trying to trigger them with hardware, right? Or you are saying the Singer/Songwriter EZX is different than the other products?

Hi Shootie, thanks for your prompt reply.

I do not know what you mean with programming.

May be this helps: You see a picture taken from EZDrummer 3:

    • I have dragged midi-flies from the EZX S-S/Straight 4/4/Tambourine and Shaker, but you hear (you see) they sound as Hi-Hat Closed Edge and Snare Center.

    • If I drag appropriate midi-files from EZDrummer 3 Percussion they correctly reproduce the sounds of a Shaker and Tambourine (see enclosed picture).

I assume that this is a bug in the EZX Singer-Songwriter library.

    Regards.

    Posting that image was important.

There is the standard percussion that works with every EZX on the right side of the screen and is always triggered with the same notes/midi. These are the futurhit instruments that you are not what you are referring to.

When it comes to different EZXs, many of them have additional instruments. In this case the extra tambourine/shakers. These addition instruments occupy the same midi notes as additional instruments of other EZXs which could be anything. So if you play that particular Tambourine Midi from Singer Songwriter on the Metal! EZX for example, you might hear a tom or a ride.

If that’s not sensible, or poorly explained by me, a fact is if you want to use the additional instrument midi from Singersongwriter EZX, you must also use that EZX for the sounds. It work perfect like that. I don’t think Toontrack will acknowledge this one, it is working sensible… though a valid observation on your part.

    Hi Norbert,

I just want to confirm what Shootie is describing; certain EZX:s have instruments specific to that expansion and when playing back MIDI meant for those specific instruments with other libraries loaded, results in another instrument sounding in its place. I.e. it’s not tied to the Singer-Songwriter EZX:s Tambourine, Shaker, Sticks and Claps; the same thing happens when playing back grooves meant for e.g. the Timpani in the Alt-Rock EZX with the Core Main Room Library loaded.

As for contacting Toontrack directly – this can be done by visiting any of the FAQ pages and clicking the ‘Contact Support’ button found at the bottom of the page.
