Where are you seeing that things are too loud? I don’t see anything in your screenshot that says so.

    The value I’ve marked pink. 3.3 … shouldn’t it be below 0?

I see no value showing in your mixer screenshot. Tried that same preset on my system with max velocity and couldn’t even come near to overload or excess level. This is in standalone mode. Did you change any of the mixer levels? As long as a signal is still in the box you can light up an overload indicator with no real problem.

My screenshot shows 3.3 at the output… 3.3 was the peak when playing some stock midi. Shouldn’t the volume sum be under 0 db?

Most DAW’s use floating point audio. The volume of the drums are okay going in. Distortion will only be a problem when mixing down to in integer format without ensuring that you have enough headroom.

    Hi LeanderL,

Jack and Jord are right, internally (Standalone or DAW) it doesn’t matter and since it’s dependant on how you play, the density, plus the fact that over the years people generally have complained about the presets being too low in volume; I wouldn’t think it’s something that need to/will be adjusted. If you are going directly from an output in the SD3 mixer to a hardware output and experience distorsion, you simply lower the output fader.

Ok, thank you! I am afraid to mess something up when track bouncing them. 😀

Unless I am reading this wrong can you not just use the master volume in the bottom right corner to bring the whole kit down??
