    Hi,

as far as I can tell, there’s no error per se with the Drums & Mixer User Preset but more of a question that you need to understand about mixing Instruments between libraries, the Bleed and Routing of Microphones concept more.

The added Instruments 2, 5, 6 and 7 are from another Library, i.e. The Metal Foundry SDX. This Library has, apart from another set of instruments, a different setup; microphones, gear, mixer, etc. There may (likely) be differences in volume between libraries, which you can fix by either changing the Instrument Level in all microphones in the Level Property Box on the DRUMS page or by visiting the Properties pane for a Channel in the Mixer.
E.g. you have the ‘Close’ signal for a Cymbal Instrument routed to its own Mixer Channel but the Bleed is routed through the ‘OH’, ‘AMB Near’ and ‘AMB Far’ Mixer Channels and since the volume of that Cymbal feels higher than the ones from the Main Library (in your case Death SDX), you lower those Bleed levels in the above mentioned Properties pane for those Channels.
Examining the Instrument 2 in your preset, it’s the 22″ Sabian Tomas Haake Custom Power Bell Ride. In the MF SDX, it is recorded in Stereo for the ‘Close’ signal as well as the ‘OH Drummer’ and ‘AMB Far’. That’s why the ‘Close’ signal gets a Stereo Fader in the Mixer, instead of a Mono fader, like the one in the Main Library. You can change it to be routed to the Regular ‘Ride’ Mixer Channel (Mono) if you want to, even if it’s recorded in Stereo.

Checking further, I see that this added Ride for Instrument 2 is the Stereo Reversed version, which you can see by the ‘>

    Thank you!

I found a YouTube video that shows you can change the panning…e.g. a ride is on the right side (default) and how to pan it to the left.

My workaround is to add the ride, add a new x-oh channel…and do everything there…instead of trying to get it right in the default OH channel with the rest of the OH instruments.

I don’t know if there is a better workaround, but mine worked.

    Hi,

unfortunately, that reply above was somehow cut into just the first 1/3.
Anyhow, I suggested replacing the stereo reversed version of the Ride Cymbal to the normal, described how you can add separate OH, AMB, etc, channels for imported Instruments but you seem to have found a video describing it, so I guess you’re all good now.

    John
