EZD3, two Alesis Nitro kits combined into one, macOS, LogicPro
Just wondering if anyone has tried MIDI mapping a pad to a high hat pedal controller using the Alexis Nitro. I know theres a bit of tweaking to make the high hat work correctly, which I got, But I want to send CC (or whatever) to EZD3/Logic to make a tom change pitch (like a timpani). Or even control a cymbal swell. -actually that would be cool to control an envelope on a cymbal….
I’m intermediate to MIDI, I’ve got assigning notes and etc, but not sure if I can assign Control Change to the Nitro, but I do know EZD “sees” it with the high hat.
Any help would be appreciated, making things work the way they are not designed is fun.
would also appreciate any DIY tweaks Nitro users have found along the way
— “not designed” was an oops. MIDI was designed to do stuff like this  Probably only MIDI and the metric system will last forever.
in order to send a different MIDI CC or pitch control value from your hi hat, you would need to set up a transformer object on one of your tracks in logic and use that to change your MIDI input before it hits EZD3.
Alternatively, you can also do this using a JavaScript MIDI FX on your track.
