Is it really necessary to upgrade to EZD3 if I have Superior Drummer 3? What would be the advantage of the upgrade? I very rarely use EZD2 after I got Superior Drummer 3.

    Operating system: Windows 11

    this is the way 🙂

but if you do use EZD sometimes, it makes sense to get the latest unless it’s so rarely used then i’d skip the EZD upgrade, as you already own the upgrade 🙂

This is something only you can decide. If you know you were going to use EZD3 then it is worth the upgrade.

from my own personal experience, EZD3 is sometimes all I need. Sometimes, all I need is an all-in-one system, when I am out and about with my laptop, ready for me to input my song ideas. If I need to go to SD3 from there, I have all an external drive with all of my libraries. YMMV

Bandmate and the other songwriting tools that SD3 doesn’t have.
If that’s not you, SD3 might be all that you need.
