Not sure exactly what release is. But if you go to the help menu, there is a Key Switch Layout Doc to check out. Plus many attributes that can be controlled in the Midi Values Editor at the bottom of the Grid Editor.

hello, I translate with google and maybe you don’t understand well what I want to say. I use ezbass as a plugin (vst) in cubase and I don’t have release settings in the midi track in cubase, I expected ezbass to have this very important function, I searched this setting in ezbass but without result.

I am not sure what a “release” function is. Can you record a small example put the audio and the saved EZB project file, in a .zip file and post it here?

I tried to upload a picture with this function from another virtual instruments, but the size of the picture is too big and I can upload it.

    Hi there,

Ok, I think I understand. You’re referring to ADSR, Attack,Decay,Sustain,Release, yes?
If so, you are correct. Most EBXs are based on stringed instruments. Although sustain can be controlled to allow a note to “ring” to its end or full length (sustain) there are for the most part no controls to manipulate the full sound envelope (ADSR).

When you press a key on a the MIDI keyboard the corresponding sample (articulation) plays until you “release” it by lifting your finger off the key. Like you would if you muted the string.

So you’re playing actual sampled instruments, rather than modelled synthesis.

I hope this helps or makes sense

Too bad, because it’s a very well sampled bass and it sounds very natural, the only problem is that it sounds a little too long after I release the “string” note of the instrument.
