It all depends on how fast you can find the audio file of your recording in the DAW. In my case I have a shortcut assigned in Reaper to directly open the folder of the recording. So it is just click recorded region, type the shortcut which opens the folder of the recording and drag the file into bandmate. It is super fast. I suggest you try to look for such ways in your DAW. I hardly think they would ever implement a function to record into EZdrummer.

Considering that this thread consists of Mac users at the time of this post, there are numerous recording tools available including Voice Memo, which are more than handy for getting a riff down. Not to mention more often than not, I am simply grabbing my iPhone to record an idea and then grabbing it from the cloud and dragging into bandmate.

Locating files is just as easy. I have a set of smart searches set up in my Finder sidebar, listing files by type and tags. One doesn’t have to know where they are physically located.
