like the string hitting the neck – either on high velocity low notes, or if the note if damped. i hear it on a lot of sampled VST not just EZB. and depends on the note. i agree though, it would be nice to have the resonant sounds of a real string and the option to set noise levels (in any EZ product including the string clatter, fret noises, foot pedals, buzzes etc). for most people the extra realism is not a benefit and something pros spent years trying to avoid in [most] of their own recordings…

Hi Glenn, thanks for reply. Yes, it’s the string hitting the fingerboard, and I get it, it adds to realism of cliche bass line, but in a mix it is infuriating at times! Spitfire do the with Pianos a bit, but you can adjust the level from that mic, for pedal noise etc.

I have fooled around with the velocity, but it maybe that it plays the finger board sample every second time in round robin fashion or something! Most annoying!

I now see the thread below related to similar issues with electric bass sounds, and fret buzz.

    Such a pity!

yeah, i basically only use the MIDI i export and a better quality VI to play it although some of the pops and slide things don’t always translate to those other VI.
