I believe you must program them by hand in the Grid Editor.

With a small exception that some EZXs, mostly older ones, actually have a flam articulation. For example. the Drumkit From Hell has a Flam Articulation on the Snare and Toms.

If you are a programmer, I’ve made a generic, general midi drummer utility at https://metacpan.org/dist/MIDI-Drummer-Tiny which has a basic flam for any pad or cymbal, and a couple types of rolls. (For rudiments, including the paradiddle, I made https://metacpan.org/pod/MIDI::Simple::Drummer::Rudiments, which is not the same library, but works fine.)

You can generate a MIDI file with the elements you desire, then import that file into your stuff (or DAW).

    YMMV! 😀

In this case, I’d side with Shootie (he’s the big Kahuna when it comes to the various TT products) and just pencil the flams and rudiments into the grid editor. One can set up a flam in seconds, velocity and all.

    It’s an option… I’ll shut up now.

This looks interesting, but as a non-programmer I’d like more info on how to set this up/implement it, ideally in Cubase 12. I’ve taken a look at Tiny/Quickstart, but still have no clue what that’s all about. Idiot’s guide?

    Cheers!

Regardless of whether you are a programmer or not, Shootie’s suggestion is your best route For creating drum rudiments in EZ Drummer 3. There are plenty of references available online, Including one from Groove 3 called Drumming Explained, Which is geared mainly to drum programming, but is explained in terms of drumming itself.
