You have a 4 TB system drive? Where specifically are you installing to – what folder? What does OSX disk utility show for things?

    Hello all!

Trying to install SD3 library and SDX installer says I only have 13,93GB left while my Mac says I have more than 700GB left on my internal drive… I tried selecting other path in the computer and still the same. When I close the installer and retry, the available space sometimes decrease slightly to 12GB and sometimes increase to 18GB which is very odd… I have absolutely no hard drive connected to the Mac so definitely not detecting wrong volume. The path selected is the same as my SD2 Avatar library which is already installed from before on the mac. See picture attached, it makes simply not sense as the installer requires 40,53GB to install and my mac has more than 700 available…

    I am absolutely lost here

Have you recently deleted some files/folders and if yes, have you emptied the “trash”?

    Hi,

do you have  Carbon Copy cloner installed?  Are ‘Snapshots’ enabled for the drive? If so, these eat up usable space but are “invisible” to the system disk usage report.

If you have snapshots enabled, please go into CCC and remove at least some of them; as Brad mentioned, empty your Bin and then restart the Mac.

    John

True that. Also old installers can lurk about a system. Could the MacOS swap disk be eating drive space? I would still like to see the partition map from disk utility. His installation path seems kind of strange as well.

I am also having the same issue.  Can anyone suggest a solution? I do not see any solutions so far.

    An external SSD?

Sorry my old eyes didn’t see the grey writing on you screen print.

    What John suggested below.

    Hi,

what about the info provided in the posts above yours?
You do not mention any steps taken, things you have tried.

Do you have Carbon Copy Cloner installed? If so, please remove old snapshots
Are you using Time Machine? If so, please delete old local snapshots.
Have you deleted old OS installers? If not, please check and do so
Have you emptied the Trash? If not, please do so
Have you rebooted your Mac? Surprisingly many Mac users seldom does

In all the explanation on how to install this product, If it be on main drives, or on external drives. Why hasn’t anyone gone ahead and

created a video tutorial on this? It would save a lot of back and forth with the same questions. One nice step by step installation of SD3.

I would think that with the money that Toontrack is making on the product, that would be a no brainer. I already saw one say that it was

too complicated, and he was having problems. I am reading this forum, and finding it hard to understand downloading, moving to external drives then mapping.  Do I move the map, change the map, or remove the map? It’s ridicules. How about you setup a video that walks us through the process. then we will get some results. Thank you for your time.

There are videos on YouTube and a simple search there would turn up a few. As far as moving the libraries after installation it’s a simple drag and drop and then tell SD3 where you moved things. Not complicated and one doesn’t need a degree in computer science.

dr_john507 – what map are you talking about?

Operating system? Have you emptied the trash? Where are you installing things? The samples can be on any drive.
