Hi guys,
I have been using EZDrummer to trigger my EDrum (Alesis Crimson 2) for a few years with my specific setup using a Steelseries Arctis Headphone. which allows me to listen to both Ezdrummer 3 (ASIO) and music (Youtube, Spotify, etc). I reckon the headphone has 2 drives which make it possible. However, I’m looking to get away from this setup as it proves tedious by needing to have that specific headphone all the time.
I’m looking at options like DAW, for example, if I buy a Scarlet Focusrite DAW, will I be able to listen to both Ezdrummer and music? I assume I can use another headphone/earplug and plug it into the DAW while also connecting Ezdrummer from PC to DAW?
Would love to listen to some suggestion and input from you guys. Thanks!
Grab a Focusrite that has “Loopback”. The newest ones do, and the older 3rd generation 4i4 and up do as well (not older 2i2). Loopback will allow you to hijack audio sources outside of your DAW and bring them in. Look up “Focusrite Loopback” for more info. I use it myself, but not in the same manner you want.
