So I have a quick question and maybe find help as what to do.
I have SD3 and a couple SDXs. When I use them with my eDrumin10 they trigger perfectly.
When I try to use Gospel EZX none of the pads trigger the right sounds.
I’m guessing there’s a different map from SD3 to EZX. Is there an easy way to switch over? Also why would they take the time to create a new midi map that’s different from each other.
Thanks!
Hi,
are you using a MIDI Preset in the MIDI In/E-drums settings for your eDrumin kit?
If so, are you sure it is applied when using the EZX?
All Toontrack libraries follow a GM Extended layout, so unless it is a highly specialised EZX, the triggering of E-drums should be similar.
Unless you have altered the note layout, of course.

Just wondering if there are any lists or similar that actually show this MIDI mapping for SD3 and any of the SDX’s ? I am using large user kits (with additional user instruments) and want to try and keep the mapping as consistent as possible between SDX’s. As an example for a multi tom kit will the “extra toms” have a unique mapping with those MIDI notes then “free” on a smaller kit in another SDX – or is every SDX significantly different ? And is there an easy way to see this and easily compare – or even be able to download into a spreadsheet or similar? thanks for your help. I am aware of the “keyboard layout” that I have for SD3 and Progressive Foundry but can’t find it anywhere for other SDX’s.

Hi,
in the ‘Help’ menu, there’s a ‘Show MIDI Mapping Layout’ option.
If you view or print this to PDF without loading a MIDI Preset, it will show you the Default layout for that library.
If you load a MIDI Preset, it will show you and let you print the modified layout of the Preset. See my attached examples.Hansa-Marble-Room-Layout
