After all, the TD 27 is one of the most popular modules by one of the most popular brands out there, Roland. All Roland kits that come with the TD 27, now come with the VH 14 D, stock. it just seems kind of cheap of toontrack to expect me to use the TD 50 preset on such a expensive piece of equipment that advertises module compatibility. it seems it’s not even compatible with the base pads that come with the TD 27 at this point.

Mart EvansThe stock TD27 preset doesn’t give you the full functionality of the VH14 – the bell articulations are the main thing missing and you have to go to the TD50x preset to get it working correctly. While the workaround is fine I agree it would be nice to be able to just use the TD27 preset.
Mark KingBut there won’t be any difference. It’s only the digital pads that work differently and the td27 will output the same midi as the td50x. Just save as and change the name to td27 if it makes you happier.

Exactly. The ekit presets aren’t necessarily correct for every usage. The General MIDI preset has some errors especially as it doesn’t take into account 4 rack toms that the GM spec specifies. Modify and save and move on.

Rather than comnplain and wait for something that probably won’t happen just buckle down and fix the preset yourself if you have the chops to do it. That’s what I did with the General MIDI preset errors.

Exactly. He just needs to edit the preset as needed and save it to a new name. Toontrack isn’t going to do an update for just one little thing. I’d suggest the OP start a support ticket with TT to let them know about it.

We’re fighting a losing battle with the OP. He wants someone else to do the simple work for him when he’s been given the way to go right here. As I wrote earlier he should just start a ticket with support if he doesn’t want to help himself. Toontrack has better things to do than fix something that’s not a deal breaker.

ljconstrictors@gmail.comBut I don’t want to use the td-50x preset. I want the td-27 preset to accommodate the stock pads that come with said module. The TD-27 is one of the most popular modules out there and every kit that comes with the td-27 comes with the vh-14d hi hats. A consumer shouldn’t have to contact an online form for a work around to make one of the most popular modules work with its own pads, on a product that costs a minimum of $300. The fact that you have to use a completely different preset altogether is asinine. Superior drummer 4 hasn’t been released yet, they should still update support for their presets, especially on something as popular as the td-27.

Why don’t you take the time you use here writing your screeds and put it to work reworking the MIDI preset? That would be the logical thing to do and you’d have your working preset quicker than waiting months if not years for TT to fix it to your liking. If I have a problem with a program and can fix it myself that’s what I would do and have done with it.
