Why would the stock library have presets in it that have inconsistent mapping?

    Hi,

could you please give an example?
Your subject line mentions added instruments, which would not be the same as stock presets.

What I mean is if I add say 10 instruments to say Modern Metal High preset then I add the same 10 instruments to another one, say Ludmire or something. I found that the midi numbers were slightly different for the same instrument numbers between the two presets. So for example, 3rd octoban in one preset might be pointing to midi 102. But that same octoban in the other preset (same instrument number) points to 107 or something like that. It seems like the midi numbers should be consistent between presets with regards to the instrument number. The stock instruments have been consistent. Just not the added instruments. In other words instrument 3 in one preset should be the same midi as instrument 3 in the other. no different than tom 1, tom 2, etc which have so far been consistent.

well, so far, it’s worked out pretty good. I only had to change a few midi notes on one preset so far. just a time consuming process adding these octobans. but overall, very pleased with the results with eDrumin and my samples. The stock libraries really don’t have much options for these. I’m using mostly samples from the Strike Module that have saved. I just wish that there was a copy feature that would allow you to copy a whole stack and paste to another instrument. would make the process soooo much faster. you can’t even select all to load a stack of samples all at once. it’s one by one. So if you got 30+ samples, it takes time to get them all in there. maybe perhaps in the next version? There definitely needs to be a quicker way of getting your multi-layered samples loaded for larger kits. and there should be an automatic feature that splits up the gates evenly. or at least again, copy stack which will also copy the velocity gates. so all you have to do is change the pitch/tone.
