Any midi dragged into the app does not identify the correct chord name. All the chords in the midi track are set to the Root Key only. I have version 2.0.2, and have reinstalled and rebooted. The only workaround is to use EZK1 and then save the project to import into EZK2. Total Show stopper with EZK2 again! What is going on?
For clarity… My midi is in Em – a full chord progression song with diatonic chords. However, when I drop and drag, every chord in the sequence is Em (G). If the song key was inadvertantly set to C when I drag and drop every chord in the sequence appears as a C.
definitely strange. i created a simple MIDI file in F#m and just placed all the expected chords. upon import into EZK2 it becomes A major (a relative scale) and the chords are not as expected (likely due to the relative scale?)

Thanked by: jazzmandanNot sure what you describe, is what I have going on. Your got apparently bad chords. While I got essentially NO chords.
I have had two problems recently with EZK2. In both cases I could solve the problem by using EZK1 and then saving the project and exporting the file EZK2, where all was now good. So can you see if EZK1 works for better chords?
Hi,
not sure you are experiencing the same thing but if I take your MIDI file, Glenn and drop it onto the EZkeys 2 Song Track, then click the ‘Key’ and then ‘Suggested’ No correction ‘F# Minor’, doesn’t the chords display and behave as expected?

Hi John,
it comes up as “A Major” (a relative key) but switching to F#m – the chords match the lead sheet.
my steps: set key of song to F#m. drag MIDI onto track. it shows A Major. I select either the suggested key “F#m” or the no transpose “F#m” and the result is the same.
my error – had a lefthand bass instead of full chords which caused the analyser to guess incorrectly.

none of this helps my original issue. This is a show stopper! I can’t be the only. The simple and essential feature works fine in EZD1, but no longer in EZD2. It may be 2.0.2?
what happens for me – if the chords are simple triads, they seem to be recognised correctly, if i use 7ths, 9ths 13ths or a lefthand bass, then they often fail to be recognised correctly.
@jazzmandan — maybe post the MIDI file so the techs can look into it.

Good idea, here is the midi file. It is ~28 bars of Em 96 bpm. It loads as Key of C with ONLY C chords in in every bar.
