Different loading times of various SDX/EZX

Hi,

I have very different loading times of kits inside SD3.

Hitmaker SDX, Big Stage EZX and EZDrummer3 Core kits are loading very fast, within a few seconds for 2-4 Gb sized kits. SD3 Core and Metal Foundry SDX on the other hand load several minutes. Same thing inside Reaper DAW and standalone.

All libraries are set as SSD drive in options. Also all the SDX are in the same SSD drive so no difference there.

Does someone know what could be the explanation?

Hi,

I would guess it depends on how much RAM you have and how much of it is occupied when you load bigger kits, if stuff must get shuffled from physical RAM to virtual.

But the case is that Hitmaker SDX loads up > 3Gb kit inn10 seconds while Core and Metal Foundry load < 2Gb kits for many minutes.

I have 16Gb RAM.

If it’s taking several minutes, that could be an indication of an SSD problem. I just tested loading those libraries and they all clock in under 10s on from my SSD.

Moved the content of Core and ametal Foundry to C: drive and they worked fine. Moved back to D: and still ok.
