EZK1 > EZK2 import issue.
On Windows 10 with all updates, Ableton 11.2.11
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1) In Ableton, create block chord arrangement in EZK1, set to a studio grand.
2) Save the project.
3) Open EZK2 and import the EZK1 project. It will be set to Studio Grand, as expected. Block chords will play as expected.
4) Change keyboard to any other EZK instrument, including the grand included with EZK2.
RESULT: First chord plays fine, but the second chord is a single note, which is wrong. And every chord after that is the single wrong note.
If you open up the key wheel to change the chord, any other chord is correct, but the chord that is supposed to be playing is the same single wrong note.
If you move off the chord by selecting another one and they trying to reselect it the right one, it will still be a single wrong note. So you can’t correct it by reselecting it.
Changing back to the original piano or any other piano will continue to play the wrong chord.

UPDATE: This occurs even if I don’t change the keyboard. I went back to an earlier revision of my project to do my repro steps and it fails from the point I import the EZKeys 1 project using the menu option.
I was able to solve the issue, but it’s a workaround. Still not working as designed if “File > Import EZKeys 1 Project…” is supposed to import a saved EZKeys 1 project. .
What I’ve tried:

Yes I found some “dark patches” when importing some song from EK1 . I’m going from stand alone to stand alone . Only a bar or two very random and not every time I import a song .What’s really weird is when I copy and paste to fill in the missing part that chord is blacked out on the chord wheel . No matter what chord I choose the midi won’t change .So a work around , I can change the midi in the grid editor . So if your crazy , we both are lol

Hey, we are trying to reproduce the issue you reported. We found another, possibly related, issue but we weren’t able to reproduce your exact issue.
Would you be able to attach one of those EZkeys 1 projects that breaks when you change library/preset in EZkeys 2 after import?

Thanked by: Wade Jackson and Robert GarciaHear is an EZK1 file . When I move this to EZK2 there are at least 4 chords blank .1 at bar 8 and 3 blank at bar 9 .

Thanked by: Christoffer and PetterThanks Petter, I’ll be glad to attach the exported EZK1 project when I get home this evening.
Changing keyboards doesn’t seem to be the catalyst though. The issue actually repros right from the point where I import the project.
The project I exported from EZK1 was a full song of individually inserted chord blocks, i.e., no library midi was applied before exporting.
My typical workflow is to start with a drum loop and block chords to build a skeletal framework of the song first. Then I add all the other instruments (bass, guitar, vocal etc.). Last, I start searching for midi library selections on keys and drums to match the feel I’ve built up with the other instruments.
So of the EZK1 projects I’ll be importing as I switch to EZK2, most of them will be block chords. I hope this helps. I’ll attach the example broken project this evening.

Thanks for the help! The problems in your project has been fixed for the 2.0.1 release.

Thanked by: Robert GarciaHi Petter, here is my EZK1 project for your repro test. It was exported from EZKeys 1, for import to EZKeys 2.
On import, everything after the first chord is broken, only playing one note. The chord wheel is also broken and so trying to reselect the correct chord only gives me the same broken sound.
Hope this helps! Thanks for looking into this, friends. Aside from these issues I love the new version! — Wade

Thanked by: PetterHi Wade, at first glance it looks like your issue also got solved by the fix to Robert’s project. We’ll take a closer look to see if there may be other issues. Thanks!
