Hello everyone and thank you in advance. I tried using the search feature in the forum and couldn’t locate this question. Unless it is in the FAQ and I just missed it.
I am using Logic Pro. When I am in a project, I create a software instrument using EZDrummer 3. It shows in the “Input” section of the channel strip. After I finish working on the project. I save it before closing the file. When ever I reopen the project to resume working on it, the Input for EZ Drummer is turned off. I can hover my mouse over the box that indicates EZDrummer I can see the on/off circle. Then I click it to turn it back on and it works, but I’m just wondering if there is a setting either in EZD3 or in Logic that I need to change so that it is already on and I don’t need to do it manually every time.
Hi,
I am not certain I understand exactly what you mean but under Project Settings > General, there is an ‘Opening Project’ entry called ‘only load plug-ins needed for project playback’.
Maybe try un-checking that one? Could you please post a screen shot of what it looks like when you open the project?
BR,
John

Thanked by: Mmidgette01Hi John,
Thank you – that seemed to work. I have been using the Virtual Instrument for the drums and have not imported/copy & pasted the EZ Drummer midi directly onto the track. Per Apple, having midi information in the track (as opposed to the Virtual Instrument) would prevent this. Now I just need to learn how to do that.
You don’t need MIDI on the Logic track. All you need is a blank region. You can do this with the pencil tool, and draw a blank region on the track. You can save this as part of a song template so that you only have to do it once.
