When importing an audio file that’s a single articulation, in this case the bell of a ride cymbal, is it possible to have it replace just that articulation on the existing kit ride cymbal while leaving the rest of the articulations untouched? Doesn’t seem clear to me from the manual.
2. Currently I have the imported bell audio file routed to its own mixer channel. I’ve activated it in the Property boxes of the OH and ambient mic bleeds in the mixer, but I’m getting no sound in those mics. Only sound is in the direct mixer channel. Am I missing something?

You can fake it by stacking an imported audio file over the kit piece articulation and turning down the articulation on the kit piece. However, it will sound a little weird, considering that as Jack pointed out, imported audio files do not have bleed.

Thanks to you both. Good to know moving forward that OH/Room bleed is not possible in imported files. These particular samples (Steve Ferrone’s Drums From the Big Room) provide Close, OH and Room. I just brought in the close mic figuring I could add it to the overhead and room bleeds in the mixer. I could bring in all three, but it might sound weird given that it’s a completely different room with different mics.
