I have been having nasty crashes everytime I drag an audio into bandmate. So I upload an audio and press play. I do not even hear the audio that I uploaded while ezdrummer is playing the beat. And after 5 seconds or so logic pro crashes with the following error: “An Audio Unit plug-in reported a problem which might cause the system to become unstable. Please quit and restart Logic Pro.”
Anyone having the same issue?
Bandmate was one of the main reasons I went ahead with the purchase and in this condition it is totally useless.
Hi, sorry to hear you are having problems. I haven’t seen that one myself. The first thing I would try is to open the Logic Plug-In Manager and select the EZdrummer 3 plug-in and then click ‘Reset & Rescan’. Next would be to clear the AU cache completely as per this FAQ:
https://www.toontrack.com/faq/ezdrummer-no-longer-works-with-logic/
Can you use the same audio file in the EZdrummer 3 Standalone app? What format does the audio file have?
Can you salvage a Crash log? Either from the error dialogue or from the Console app Logic logs?

John

Hello John,
Thank you for your fast reply. Regardless of the crashes I’ve been encountering (been experiencing some other crashes when using grooves window detached), it is good to see that I am supported.
Well to my surprise, after I did what you told me: “Reset & Rescan” in Logic Plug in Manager all the crashes disappeared. Now bandmate and detached windows seem to be working fine and I am extremely happy about this situation. Fingers crossed.
I’ll monitor for a while and let you know if anything goes wrong.
Thanks!
Regards,
Baran.
Good, report back if you run into anything else.

John

Hi John,
Guess I was a bit fast to declare it a victory. The crash came back. I tried all what you told me to try.
Standalone app does not crash. Only Logic does. I am attaching the crash report extracted from the console. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Baran.
I have been trying to upload the crash log but my post is being marked as spam. I copied and pasted the text of the crash log in the attached text file. Please let me know if this is helpful in any way.
Regards,
Baran.
Hi,
It seems like you have MIDI Out turned on in EZD3 Settings > General. Correct? Try turning it off and see if you can reproduce the crash then. Please upload more crash logs if so.

It should work to attach .ips files now, by the way.

Hello,
I turned off MIDI OUT and received no crashes since then. But MIDI OUT is an indispensable necessity for my workflow. So it is not a solution for me having it turned off.
All in all, I think I had enough of this junk piece of s**t software called Logic Pro and will ditch it for good. Been using EZDrummer with all its functions in Ableton and Reaper with zero crashes.
Will keep you updated if something unusual occurs again.
Regards,
Baran.
I have found some info that this issue seems to occur only when running Logic in native mode on Apple silicon (M1/M2). So it may work without such crashes if you run Logic in Rosetta.
