What kind of problems are you having? Did you install the AU?
jord
Also I wonder if the OP installed the program itself on his system drive? He mentions installing SD3 on an external drive; I know the samples can go anywheres but Macs like having the program itself on the system drive.

That would be crucial since CoreAudio expects AUs to be in a specific location in order for them to be registered.

Yep, I installed the AU. I don’t see SD3 listed when I try to use it. I can go into AU>Native Instruments> etc. Other programs such as Kontakt, and others are listed.
Thanks for the quick response!

Where did you install the actual plugin? For third party au format plugins they should/must be in this path:
MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components

Have you tried restarting your computer or clearing the AU cache? As well, do you see superior drummer listed in Logic’s AU plug in manager?
jord
…and if you need directions on clearing the AU cache, please see this FAQ:
https://www.toontrack.com/faq/ezdrummer-no-longer-works-with-logic/
Even though it is an EZdrummer FAQ, the same applies to SD3. Don’t forget to reboot after deleting the files.
