After upgrading, and restarting, all midi grooves are missing in the standalone SD3. They are there in Logic Pro X. I have gone into the Advanced Settings and restored default MIDI, but still missing.
THANK YOU
I’ve had the same problem, and an instruction under settings set path in the screen shot which isn’t quite clear. It says quit superior drummer, then move the midi folder, then use locate. What exactly does that mean? Use locate in the finder? or Reopen Superior drummer 3.3.4 and use locate in set path? I did notice midi files that were lost then found by restarting computer and the SD3 they returned again. Then today I reopened and the midi banks were missing again after I changed a filter, but don’t remember what it was I changed and it’s gone missing again. There is certainly a learning curve coming from SD2. So along with you I’m looking for some clarity too, Because that would suck if you had to restart the computer and sd3 every time to reactivate them.
Welcome to Florida, watch out for deadly sharks, snakes, and gators. Know worries, all the black bears and panthers have mostly been lost to unfettered sprawl, contaminated water, and greased shills and carpetbaggers courtesy of the corporations feeding them. A rare manatee is dying, and a Florida man fed red tide is creating a fish kill some place here now.
What did you find out?

Hi Unclebass,
I am sorry but I do not understand. You post a screen shot of the Grooves page in the Standalone SD3 app, full of grooves, yet you write that all are missing in the standalone?
Did you mean the other way around? Please elaborate.

John

Hi TrebleHook,
your screen shot shows an alarming path set for the repository of Toontrack MIDI and EZdrummer EZX expansions.
The path points to the ‘/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/Superior Drummer 3/Database’ folder which in short is a very bad place for the ‘EZHOME’ repository.
The Default location for this folder would be ‘Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’ and I strongly advice to move it there (or to an external drive if you are low on disk space).
Please click ‘Show in Finder’ to locate the ‘EZdrummer’ folder containing all your Toontrack MIDI and EZX:s (if you own any), quit SD3 and move this folder somewhere else; either to the Default location described above or to a preferred drive/location but not in the system area on your Mac.
Upon next launch of SD3, you will be asked to locate this ‘EZdrummer’ folder you just moved.
BR,
John

Hi John. It was my error. After upgrading, by default the MIDI view was checked in the GROOVES window, which I never saw before. After right-clicking in the window tab, I unchecked MIDI and it looks like it always did. Actually, could be very helpful when viewing complexity of grooves. Sorry…
Thank You for your time

Thanked by: JohnHi John, Here’s a screenshot now. Was wondering if EZ Player and EZ Player Pro midi files work with SD3 too. I moved anything with EZ on it out of anything in SD3 Folder, must of brought those over from SD2. Not sure. Maybe assumed those EZX were midi files that came with SD2. I’ve never owned any EZX’s but didn’t know it was some kind of repository. I don’t see needing EZplayer/Pro with SD3 or anything with EZ for that matter. Would it be okay just to trash those too? Then back to the rest of my question about missing SD3 midi grooves. I’ve seen them all there before. Then I haven’t found a tutorial how those filters work for the midi grooves. Example was sampling the Blues Grooves, and there’s three midi files in the Bo Didley song file. the fills were missing last time I looked, but know for sure they were there before I clicked on Toms as a filter. When I try to revert back without the filters nothing changes. Thanks again and advance!

Hi,
it would be easier to tell you exactly what needs to be done if I were there with you. Unfortunately it seems that stuff is mixed up in a strange way. You shouldn’t (normally) manually be editing the content inside that /Library/Application Support/Toontrack/Superior Drummer 3/ folder.
The ‘Midi’ folder now residing inside the ‘Database’ folder actually contains MIDI and should by Default reside in the ‘Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’ folder, no matter if you have any version of EZdrummer or not, it’s just a system-wide folder for Toontrack grooves and EZX:s. (Yes, it can be moved but then that ‘EZdrummer’ folder has to be moved with its internal file/folder structure intact and then pointed to in e.g. EZdrummer 2/3 or Superior Drummer 3)
Looking further at your screen shot, it *seems* like the two folders “001@EZP_FREE_MIDI” and “002@EZPLAYER_PRO_MIDI”, now residing next to the ‘Superior Drummer 3’ folder in the ‘Library/Application Support/Toontrack/’ folder, belongs inside the ‘Database’ folder. The 3rd folder there “03@EZX_LIBRARIES” most likely belongs inside the ‘Midi’ folder.
It is very possible that the above isn’t enough to fix stuff and if you still have problems, I must advise you to uninstall and re-install or open a Support Ticket with Toontrack Support.
Every FAQ page has a ‘Contact Support’ button at the bottom.

Thanked by: TrebleHookThanks John, initially I was trying to make sure I didn’t leave anything midi behind after upgrade to 3. I believe everything is working in order now I’ll let you know if any problems develop.
