Stumbled on this fix tonight, hope it helps someone else. Looks like I’ll have to add another post for rest of my solution with screenshots. Could easily gig and record with this, at least with my laptop; seems to have no latency at all (was triggering perfectly as I played along with the late, great Robbie Magruder, Mary Chapin Carpenter’s drummer extraordinaire and rock solid groove machine).
Within SD3 I clicked on Use Preset at top left corner/that activated the flyout menu where I selected Roland/on the next flyout list I selected TD-17 for my TD-17 KVX kit. I then clicked on the Select MIDI device button/checked TD-17 as MIDI device/then selected TD-17 as AISO device and AISO as ASIO control.

Well, the uploaded pics are out of order, so disregard them. I’ll work on resizing and trying again. My bad. Going to give up on pics as don’t want to take a chance on them being out of order.

OK, if not against rules, here is a link to my janky screenshot Google document with the screenshots listed in order. Not the best quality, but does make the process easier to understand, IMHO. If link not allowed, my bad.

Yes that’s the standard way as mentioned in the manual to choose the right driver and pick your kit from the edrum presets. If you add any pads you can learn them or manually add the note numbers and then save the preset with a new name. I use a td30 and name them td30 mk1 or td30 roto Tom mapping etc depending what you want sd3 to do. The preset is a good starting point.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Thank you, I called myself looking for it in the manual, but overlooked it due to excitement of playing. SD 3 is pretty wild and worth the $.
