How do I deal with these “not loaded” sounds in my kit? For instance, my Yamaha crash puts out MIDI on channels 49 (edge), 59 (center) and 55 (bell) but they all play that same edge sound (MIDI 49) …in other words hitting the center or the bell sounds just like hitting the edge. I can see that when I hit center or bell, it redirects to a sound that is “(not loaded)”. What does that even mean? I see that everywhere! I’ve tried the learn function but I’m not sure that that is the right path. I just want to be able to take advantage of the 3 different sounds that you’d get out of a “real” cymbal. Am I making sense?
Some cymbals have certain articulations and others don’t. If the cymbal doesn’t support an articulation it will play one of the other articulations.
There are a lot of cymbals however that support tip as well and you just need to enable the articulation and save the kit. That’s what I’ve done when an articulation that’s available isn’t utilised.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Below the superior drummer logo on the top menu/ribbon bar, there is a box called articulations. The default is all articulations. if you have the mini map of that instrument showing it will show you the note numbers. But that does not mean that the articulation is turned on and loaded. It will also show you articulations that are not midi mapped. When you look at that “all articulations box”, it will also show you how many of the available articulations are loaded. This is where are you turned them off and on just because they have a note number doesn’t mean that they are turned on.

Ever get this sorted? I am having the exact same issue with my cymbal 3. I can load the splash I want, but the bow tip shows as “(not loaded).” In the articulations box, there is no power on/off option for that sound. I can turn on the power for some, but some sounds don’t have power function.
Hi there.
Have been off-line for some health reasons, and I am getting back up to speed. So where are we with this particular thread?/ issue?
Cheers Ken

That because they don’t have that articulation. No all cymbals have been recorded with all the articulations. The older sdx packs don’t have tip (ones created for sd2) and some newer ones don’t either.
