Hello,
I just recently downloaded SD3 and I’m trying to add the VST to Ableton but Ableton is simply unable to find the .vst location (or I am unable to find it). I found a a folder labelled VSTPlugins>Toontrack and inside of that is Superior Drummer3.dll
The thing is Ableton won’t open the .dll file saying “Failed reading pack file (This is not a valid Pack). Does this mean I cannot run SD3 on Ableton Live 9?
Thank you for your help!
Hi,
you shouldn’t do anything but make sure that the ‘C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Toontrack’ path is one of the places Live is searching for VST’s, which is done in the Live Preferences.
The folder above: ‘C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\’ should also work, since it is in a subfolder. If it is, click ‘Rescan’ in the Live Preferences
‘Packs’ are something else, you can’t open a VST like an Ableton Live Pack.
BR,
John
